About Burns Pet Food
John Burns keeps seeing dogs come into his veterinary surgery with similar issues, and he saw the opportunity to use diet to help tackle these common problems. He has concerns about the quality of some of the ingredients in popular pet food brands, and even felt that some of these ingredients could be doing more harm than good.
Burns felt that dogs should be given home cooked food such as chicken and rice, and after trialling this, lots of the problems appeared to clear up. Diet can go a long way to resolving health issues and keeping dogs in great condition.
Despite this method working well, Mr Burns knew that busy pet owners wouldn’t be able to make home cooked meals for their dogs every day. So he came up with a solution. In 1993, he launched a range of dog food made from the very best ingredients, with each ingredient offering a health benefit. He also made sure that his dog food range didn’t contain ingredients known to cause intolerances or allergies.
Some of Burns core values that are still at the heart of the business today is providing a diet with quality ingredients, making dog food affordable and also reducing their impact on the environment. Burns is excellent value, and less food is required than some other brands due to the simple, concentrated nature of the formula.
