Feeding Guide

Feed the recommended daily amount based on your dog’s weight, age, and activity level. Active and working dogs may require more than the standard daily amount. Pregnant and nursing bitches will require increased quantities, particularly during late pregnancy and lactation — refer to the can label and consult your vet for specific guidance. Always transition gradually over 7–10 days when switching foods. Fresh drinking water should always be available.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes tripe good for dogs?

Tripe is the stomach lining of ruminant animals and is one of the most natural, nutrient-dense ingredients available for dogs. It is naturally rich in digestive enzymes that support the breakdown of food, and contains Lactobacillus acidophilus — a beneficial probiotic bacterium that supports a healthy gut flora. It also provides a favourable calcium-to-phosphorus ratio and is highly palatable, making it appealing even to fussy eaters. Tripe mix formulations have been trusted by dog owners and breeders for generations.

Why is turkey used in this recipe?

Turkey is a lean, high-quality protein source that is highly digestible and lower in fat than many other meats. It is well-suited to active and working dogs that have higher protein requirements, and is also a good choice for dogs with sensitivities to more common proteins such as beef or chicken. Combined with the nutritional benefits of tripe, turkey provides a balanced and palatable protein profile.

Is this suitable for puppies?

Yes — Denes Adult Tripe Mix Rich in Turkey with Herbs is suitable for older puppies (typically from around 6 months, depending on breed and size). It is also suitable for pregnant and nursing bitches, who have elevated protein and calorie requirements. For very young puppies, always consult your vet for breed- and age-specific feeding advice.

Is this wheat gluten free and cereal free?

Yes — this recipe contains no cereal and is wheat gluten free, making it a good choice for dogs with cereal or wheat gluten sensitivities. Always check the full ingredient list on the can if your dog has a diagnosed food allergy or intolerance.

How long will a case of 12 last?

This case contains 12 x 400g cans. Duration depends on your dog’s size and daily feeding amount. Active and working dogs typically require more food than sedentary dogs of the same weight. Refer to the feeding guide on the can for daily amounts by body weight and activity level.
