Red Carpet Pets and Doggy Holidays

Red Carpet Pets and Doggy Holidays

We are now becoming used to seeing dogs treated almost like fashion accessories and there is certainly a craze for over pampering pooches. Now it appears that dogs are rapidly replacing humans as the date of choice on the red carpet or indeed almost anywhere. Celebrities who are single often now defer to their dog when it comes to finding a date for a night on the town.

Starring Roles

Last Year Tom Hardy was accompanied by his adorable Labrador cross Woody at the premier of Legend. Meanwhile none other than Lady Gaga attended the Women in Music party with her French bulldogs by her side. Ryan Gosling has taken his dog George onto chat show sofas with him and Ariana Grande appeared on the Tonight Show in America with her puppy Toulouse.

Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher was seen with her bulldog Gary as her dinner date when she visited the Chiltern Firehouse in London last year. In May he acted as her escort at the Cannes Film Festival. ‘Gary travels everywhere with me,’ she said. ‘I love that saying: make me become the person my animal thinks I am. If I am who Gary thinks I am, I’m fantastic!’ Really?

Perhaps celebrities take their dogs out with them so they don’t have to leave them with a dog sitter for too long. But then again perhaps they are just crazy!

Holiday Buddies

Pet passports, pet friendly hotels and doggy restaurants have all helped to make travelling with your pooch a lot easier too. At least if you have a celebrity sized budget. Romantic holidays are rapidly falling out of fashion as holidaying with your dog appears to be a much more appealing proposition, certainly for the A-listers who can afford to take them along.

Racing driver Lewis Hamilton has recently been pictured enjoying his time on the beach in Barbados with his dogs Coco and Roscoe. The dogs were even lucky enough to go paddle boarding. Taking your dog on a long haul trip is probably quite easy when you can travel everywhere by private jet!

If you would like to travel with your dog then Croatia looks like an excellent destination to choose. Dogs used to be banned from almost all of the beaches in Croatia but several beaches in the country now welcome dogs and provide poop bins. Crikvenica beach has taken things one step further and has opened Monty’s Dog Beach and Bar. Here there are doggy showers and a bar selling canine beer and doggy ice cream.

Plus Ones

So dogs are now acting as plus ones and holiday companions. Celebrity pooches certainly live the life of riley. Dogs have always been considered to be man’s best friend and now they really are, especially if they belong to celebrities who happen to be single. Then they get trips down the red carpet on top of everything else. If you look at the lifestyles of some of these pampered pooches, you might reasonably wish to swap with them yourself.
