Keeping fleas at bay
With the weather generally becoming wetter and colder, there couldn't be a more perfect time to treat your pet for fleas and ticks.
One of the best ways to treat your pet if they have fleas is to apply a spray or lotion, which kills the flea. Some of the lotions come in a shampoo form, which can be used to prevent as well as kill any fleas that your animal might have. This is particular useful for dogs who spend a long time outside and might have picked something up whilst having their daily walk. However, it is particularly difficult to shampoo cats or other domestic pets. To help here, you can buy sprays, drops and collars for your animal to wear.
Drops are put on the animals fur and it repels the flea from attaching itself to your animal's body. However, this is generally not as strong as other methods of preventing fleas and could be ineffective. If used properly however, drops can be given to your animal over a period of 4 to 12 weeks. The drops contain a formula containing repellent oils and extracts including eucalyptus and citrus. Drops are perfect for cats.
