How To Provide Mental Stimulation For Your Dog

Your dog needs mental stimulation as well as their daily exercise. Mental stimulation enables them to be more like a dog and forces them to use their brain. Dogs that get enough mental stimulation will be more content. Dogs that don't get enough mental stimulation can often develop behavioural problems. When dogs are bored and underestimated they can become frustrated and destructive. Just because your dog is tired from a long walk doesn't mean they have got the mental stimulation they require. Here are some ways to provide mental stimulation for your dog.

Scent work is a good way of providing mental stimulation for your dog. All it takes is a few scent games to get your dog's mind going. You can play games such as hunting for treats around the house, finding treats under cups and kibble hunting in the garden.
