Dog Products For The Winter
This year is set to be a cold winter according to the weather man, and when it comes to making sure your dog is comfortable it’s best to be prepared. The weather can turn quite quickly and some dogs can really struggle in the colder temperatures, especially those with smooth, short coats that don’t provide them with much natural protection. Dogs like to keep warm and cosy up by the fire just like we do in the winter, so if you want to protect your dog from the elements this winter here are some products that will help make them more comfortable.
Warm Winter Coat
You can get thick, warm winter coats for dogs that can protect them from extreme cold. Keep them warm enough when you go out for those frosty winter walks with a warm winter coat. There are lots of different types of dog coat available from fleece coats to tweed and quilted materials. Have a look at our range of dog coats here
High Vis Jacket
The days become shorter and darker in the winter. You may have to walk your dog in the evening when it gets dark and a hi-vis jacket will make sure your dog can easily be seen. You might even have to use it on early morning walks when the sun hasn’t risen. High vis jackets are useful all year round but particularly in the winter when some people have to walk their dogs in the dark.
There are lots of coats to choose from but not all of them are water proof. Some will be water resistant which does help but it won’t stop your pet from getting absolutely soaked if you get caught in a downpour. It’s good to have a waterproof jacket stored away for rainy days.
As the days get colder your dog might want to curl up in a slightly warmer bed. You can get all sorts of cost beds for your dog as well as things like blankets and cushions to keep them extra warm. Get some winter bedding for your dog so they have somewhere to keep cosy during frosty winter nights.
