Ferret Food

What do Ferrets eat?
Ferrets have specific dietary requirements which must be met if they are to stay healthy. They are carnivores which cannot digest cereals and plant matter. They need food which is high in animal protein and low in carbohydrate. At Time for Paws we offer a premium range of proprietary ferret foods which have been developed and formulated to meet the specific needs of your pet’s digestive system.
Ferret diet advice; feed food little and often
Whilst ferrets have traditionally been fed raw meat this approach is impractical for many people. Ferrets should be fed little and often as they have a high metabolic rate and they tend to hoard any uneaten food. It is far easier to provide dried foods which are simple to store and not too unpleasant to remove from hiding places should any be secreted away!

Our ferret foods have been selected from the highly regarded Chudleys, James Wellbeloved, Alpha and Gilbertson & Page ranges. They are rich in animal protein and fatty acids and low in fibre. Ferrets should be fed several small meals each day and any food which remains uneaten after 30 minutes is best removed. It is also a great idea to hide a little food in order to encourage your pet to forage as this will satisfy their urge to hunt and help to prevent them becoming bored.
Our premium ferret foods help to make caring for your pet much easier and will ensure that they remain in the best of health.
